Newspaper “Class”: 14 pieces of information on the meat products labels
Each sausage has to contain 14 pieces of information, experts from food quality forum declared. The name of the product, the ingredients, its durability and other indices has to be shown on the label, Cyril Vatev, manager of TANDEM V stated. Food safety and quality are two completely different ideas, the chairman of the Association of the Meat Processors in Bulgaria Dr. Svetla Chomova commented. Meat product quality in our country has bettered, according Mihail Velkov, manager of Association of the Milk Processors in Bulgaria. Due to good production practices, introduced in Bulgaria, 67 enterprises are approved to trade in EU, he mentioned. For the last two years the milk products import has outweighed the export considerably. Over 70% of our sheep milk products are exported, because they are a scarce commodity in EU, added Velkov, too.
