Scones with ham and zucchini

  • 85 g Tandem Prague ham cut into thin cubes,
  • 8 thin slices of Prague ham cut in half,
  • 225 g flour with raising agent,
  • 1 tsp. baking powder,
  • salt and pepper,
  • 50 g margarine,
  • 1/2 tsp. dry oregano,
  • 1 grated zucchini,
  • 1 beaten egg,
  • 2-3 tbsp. milk
  • 200 g cream cheese.
  1. Preheat the oven to 200оС. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, a pinch of salt, pepper and oregano. Add the margarine and rub it into the flour until crumbly.
  2. Add the diced ham, grated zucchini, egg and milk. Knead into a soft, yet not sticky dough. Lightly roll out the dough on a surface covered in flour until it reaches a thickness of 2 cm. Cut different shapes from the dough.
  3. Press them sharply so that their ends do not stick together. Arrange the cut forms in a pan, coat with some milk and bake for 10-12 minutes until they swell and become golden brown.
  4. Let them cool and cut in half. Smear each half with cream cheese and cover with a thin slice of ham.
